Production Blog: Lets Start The Editting

Hello there, I'm back, in the last blog I wrote about how my group finished filming the last scenes, now it is time for editing, so before I can start talking about the process I went through editing I want to talk about a few changes that happened in the clips, so as I said before, Kason who was a member in my team had to leave because he was no longer part of the school, but together Gabriel and I convinced him to help film because even though he left the group, he still has own up to his responsibility of helping the team. So, even though he technically wasn't part of the team he helped us out, so because the cameraman was back, I decided to film again so the shots looked better so I could show that everyone did the best they could. In the storyboard, there was a scene that the team and I redid which was the mall scene, when Gabriel watched the mall scene it turned out that the camera was shacky and looked very blurry, so I didn't want to use that in the music video, so I planned a day where the three of us were free and went to the beach because, around the beach area, there was a lot of shops so it was decided to refilm in those shops and re do the beach scene just in case I like the new clip than the old one. Now, that everything was finally complete it was time for editing, yay! The app that I considered using was Caput because, in the last project that I did I used Capcut to edit my video, so because of that I decided to use the same app so that the editing process would be easier for me, now having some prior experience with the app itself. My other teammate also is familiar with the app so he will be editing some of the clips in his own time because it wouldn't be fair if I did the work all by myself. The only thing new I need to learn so I can edit is how to make a split screen because in around three of the scenes, there is a split screen in all of them and I have never done that before and I don't know where to start. Luckily, Gabriel says he has a friend who has used the app for far longer than the both of us so he said he was willing to teach us how to make a split screen in our video so there aren't any other problems. For now, I have put all of the filmed clips into cap cut and the video is pretty long but because it is not a problem because I can easily cut out parts of the clips that do not look good so the video plays smoothly. Well, that's all the editing for now, on the next blog hopefully I can talk about how I finished edeting the whole video, but that's it for now, goodbye!
