Production Blog: Get the camera rolling!

Hey there! I am back yay!,  I am bringing along good but at the same time some bad news. To have an idea of what this blog will be about I will be talking about my filming progress. Yes, yes finally my group has filmed hooray! To refresh, in my last blog, I was describing what the first scene to be filmed was going to be so that is what I will be talking about. As I wrote in the last blog, this scene was to be filmed at home, I will say it was pretty tricky to film without the cameraman but nothing that I couldn't find a solution to. In the storyboard, the bedroom scene starts off with a shot clip of the outside of my home so it can establish where the scene is taken from, the next shot was me in my bedroom, on my bed texting the other person, for this scene was a bit tricky because I was taking the video from my phone, but I needed a phone to show in the video, so I looked through my old stuff and found my old phone from three years ago. The way the video is taken is a landscape view, I set up the phone across the room and pressed record then I got on my bed, and with my old phone I pretended to type some things, I did that for maybe twenty to thirty seconds, so I could have enough video for when I am editing the video, I could just cut it short if the clip is a bit too long, I would rather have a longer amount of video than not enough when editing. For the last clip in this scene, I did have to ask for help from my brother because in this clip it was an over-the-shoulder shot that showed my phone screen but because my old phone was dead and didn't work I had to use my current one, so it would show the text messages, so I asked my brother to take the shot in his phone because not only would it be easier to use him to take the shot rather than struggling to find a way to film on my own was a very smart choice, after we took the shot I asked him to send it to me. That was done in one day and I am glad we got that done, so that was the good news, the first scene is finally done. Now like I said even though I have some good news I do have some bad news, the cameraman who was the third member of the group project is leaving the school so there's basically no cameraman to film the next two scenes we have left. He says he is still willing to help but because he is going to a different school it will be harder to plan things in person, I am still trying to figure out the situation but I promise our next scene will be filmed. The next scene that the group and I will try to film is the park scene, hopefully, everyone can get together to film. Well, that's it, goodbye for now!
